Krakatoa is the name of a volcanic island located in the Sunda Strait, between the islands of Java and Sumatra, Indonesia.
In this area there was a large volcano called Mount Krakatoa. It erupted later in 1883. Its explosion was very powerful. The resulting hot clouds and tsunami killed about 36,000 people
Its explosive power was estimated at about 30,000 times of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of The World War II. Its eruption voice could be heard up to Alice Springs, Australia and the island of Rodrigues near Africa.
In 1927 or about 40 years after the eruption of Mount Krakatoa, in this area then appears another volcano known as the child of Krakatau or "Anak Gunung Krakatau" in The Indonesian language.
Every year it grows about 20 feet higher and 40 feet wider. Currently its height is reaching about 230 meters. it's less than the previous Krakatoa height of 813 meters above sea level.
Currently, Anak Gunung Krakatau becomes one of the attractions visited by many visitors both domestically and from other countries.
